Aug 14, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. A pitch black beer with a thin borwn head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt as well as strong notes of chocolate and light notes of alcohol that burns slightly in the throat, which surprises me at 5.5% ABV.

Medium body with lots of sweet, roasted malty flavours and loads of chocolate accents. Slightly burned finish with touches of aroma hops. A very pleasant brew. 060706

Dec 7, 2008 Hazy brown. Some chocolate and coffee aroma with a little bit of caramel. The flavour mixes cheap coffee, diacteyl, and vague nuts. The body is light and the mouthfeel is creamy, but that butter has got to go.
