I picked this one up not expecting much but turned out loving everything about it. Very smokie and a great coffee ending. Not much of a discription on the bottle, came of more of a robust porter but luckly for them i love them too. Gret beer!! williamherbert (475), Syracuse, New York, USA

Bitter coffee smell, bitter and rich. Sweetish tobacco, sweeter dates and raisins. Rich and beautifully balanced.
Strong sweet flavor at the start, with dark grapes and a hint of flowery hops. Some bitter coffee and mocha. Hints of milk chocolate. Gets nutty as it warms.
Mouth feels a little thin, but smooth and leaves a little reminder on the tongue. A tad chalky. A solid porter. Balanced, smooth and nice. A real good call. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA

This one is a hit, though. It is very rich and tastes of quality and care in brewing; it is not one of those "weak stout pseudo-porters" that you sometimes find from American microbreweries. This is a textbook porter and is just as good as the UK’s Flag Porter that I just had. It looks as if I am a bit against the grain on this one, but if you like Porters, give it a try. Tell ’em that Ringo sent ya! Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

Man, I don’t know what beer other people drank to rate this so low, or maybe they change the recipe but this porter was awesome. Medium bodied with a big roasted aroma. The taste was big also, smoky, rich, chocolate and coffee. Fantastic stuff. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 21, 2005 Pours dark with a medium tan head that lingers for most of the drink. It starts out with a burnt wood flavor followed by a chocolate finish with hints of carmel and coffee. The carbonation is just right. I really liked this porter but the current rating of 38 seems low to me.
