Golden coloured and hazy in appearance with a spicy aniseed flavour. Crisp and slightly dry sour finish.

Aug 16, 2008 Draft at the brewpub, October 2007. An unclear golden beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of lemon zest as well as coriander. The flavor is very spicy with strong notes of lemon zest - too much for me, leading to a dry spicy finish.

Aug 26, 2007 On tap @ Goatshed Reunion poured a cloudy gold with a minimal off white head. Aromas of licorice, light fruitiness and a hint of yeast. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of licorice, fruittiness and a hint of carmel with a smooth lingering licorice finish. While I enjoyed this beer it would have been better if they backed off on the Star Anise a bit. As it is it’s a pretty one dimensional beer.
