Dec 13, 2009 Draught at Boulder Draft House. Pours black with a small, fizzy light brown head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, chocolate, nutty), little to no hops, average yeast (dough, leather, leaves) with notes of plum, dates, brown sugar, and vanilla. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Roast aroma. Creamy head. Black a little rich and smooth on the palate with some dryness and bitterness in a crisp coffee roast finish.

Oct 28, 2009 Draught at RFD. Very black, medium light tan head, long-lasting. Aroma of black bread and raisins. Light smoke flavor, but not too much else, maybe just a bit of roasted coffee. But overall lacks complexity.

Mar 25, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra at the brewpub. Some roast, some coffee, some poop. Flavor is smooth but unexceptional. It’s aight and drinkable but not great and very thin.
