Commercial Description:
Based loosely on the Smokestack Series Sixth Glass, this abbey-style quadrupel, after fermentation on cherries, was separated into a number of oak bourbon barrels, where is aged for varying lengths of time, in some cases as long as a year. Selected barrels were then blended for optimum flavor. The resulting beer retains only very subtle cherry characteristics, with toffee and vanilla notes coming to the fore.

750ml, caged and corked, bottle acquired in trade with bu11zeye (thanks!). Bottle # 01275/10630. Poured a medium reddish/brownish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of cherries, some dark fruitiness, lighter bourbon, wood, and vanilla. Tastes of chocolate, woody, brown sugar, vanilla, lighter bourbon, and some tart cherries in the finish. Alcohol content well hidden.

750 ml bottle courtesy of a trade with beastiefan2k. Pours a hazy amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left very little lace. Pleasant aroma of caramel and bourbon. The flavor is predominantly influenced by the bourbon barrel aging with bourbon and just a hint of vanilla. There is a bit of weak caramel coming through from the base beer, with no sign of the cherry whatsoever. Mild alcohol burn towards the finish along with some alcohol in the flavor. I was expecting more flavor and richness from this beer: disappointing.

My 750 ml c&c bottle was titled Sixth Glass. It poured a very attractive hazy amber with on off-white head that produced big bubbles so settled fairly quickly, and left lots of lacing. Very powerful nose of ripe fruit and vanilla. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor shows the bourbon barrels is really delicious again with the ripe fruit flavors. The alcohol is actually well hidden considering how potent this is. A really great beer.

750 bottle into a glass-Be careful when pouring this beer, the foam head can get away from you, I poured a good 3 inches, tastes reminiscent of a belgian beer, which I love. Deep cloudy brown look. I would buy a true belgian beer over an imitation any day of the week, but in a blind taste test this beer could have fooled me.

Slightly hazed amber pour with a cream off white head and lace. Aroma of oak, brown sugar, light vanilla. Vanilla, oak and a hint of abv on the flavor. Medium full bodied with nice carbonation. A very nice well done big beer.

Corked bottle from Santa (bvc). Thanks!
Pours a decent tea brown with an aroma of bourbon, bourbon chips, and a tinge of plumb. A slightly off-white head sits atop the beer. Flavor is peachy bread bourbon with a finish of zesty dark fruits tempered by the aforementioned flavors. Very interesting beer; I like it. Nice mouthfeel; hints of tingle and thickness. Wish I had more of this!
