Opaque with a large lasting head that leaves sugary lace all over the glass. Typical coffee and light cocoa aroma has a nice tinge of green herb and musty fruit. Flavors of coffee, piquant herb, hickory, cocoa, apple, graham cracker, molasses and char are well-blended and balanced. Medium body is mostly smooth with some slight hop tingle and a dry, roasted malt and herb finish. Pershing (147), Garland, Texas, USA

The aroma is full of roasted malts, caramel, and some strong hops. The flavor is very nice; a hint of bitter hops, some dry coffee, a touch of cocco, and a rich roasted malt. Very nice. A full and creamy mouthfeel. SudsMcDuff (1692), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Dark brown, impressive pour with pillowy head and nice lacing. Strong roasted aroma. The flavor, however, is bitter, acidic and astringent. The caramel present didn’t go well with the other notes. Like an out of tune string on a guitar. It got slightly better as it warmed. Extremely dry...like biting on a piece of charred wood and having it crumble to ash. hayduke (1654), Eureka, California, USA
