Poured dark brown. Nice chocolate and hop nose. Chocolate, light coffee, and caramel taste. Slightly bitter. good mouthfeel. pretty hoppy for a porter. Good overall beer. One of my favorites from Boulevard.

Bottle from valpoaj. Medium brown with tan colored head. Aroma of caramel, choclate,and light coffee. Flavor was the same. Fizzy when cold, smooth when warm.

Im not sure how to rate this honestly...Poured a terrific dark roasted color with tan head with very nice retention. Here is where the confusion comes in....First initial smell made me flinch.....It in someways smelled like stale cig’s......then I took a drink and noticed a bitterness that dried the back of my tounge as well.....I can tell it was very malty and sweet, but in my opinion, too bitter for style.....I have never had a porter like this and I can see why people love it, and after each sip I am starting to like it more and more.....first impresion was horrible, but half way through the glass I am appreciating it.....I love it and hate it....this beer must be a woman.......

Last bottle from a sampler box, this one pours a dark chestnut body with a tall khaki head. Lots of sticky lace is left on the glass. Aroma of milk chocolate and dak berries. Medium body is a bit overcarbonated. Taste opens with a bitter dark roastiness of dark chocolate. Undertones of berries and hops. A very nice American porter here.

Inky black with about an inch of tan head. Chocolate and hops in the nose. Smooth and tastes of bitter chocolate or coffee. Lingers on the back of the tounge.

Pours a dark chocolate brown color with a tan reddish head that turns into an off white color when it opens. This head is strangly un even and ridgid. Nose is sour malty and coffe and chocolate. Mouth feel is velvety with a semi acidic finish. Taste is of bitter chocolate and the finish is lasting. Not bad pretty standard really.

Very pretty porter. Large, creamy, light brown head with good retention and lacing. Typical ultra-dark brown body. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and the fruity hops that I have come to associate with most of Boulevard’s brews. Taste is coffee up front followed by a mildly sour and salty finish with a yeasty aftertaste. Dry mouthfeel and a bit too fizzy carbonation.
