Commercial Description:
A dry, medium-bodied dark ale. Its intense dark-roasted barley malt flavor is perfectly balanced by complex hop character.

Interesing taste. Much better in the bottle than on tap, in my opinion. Nice hints of coffee and chocolate; bitter. Fizzier than I expected.

Fantastic pour. Aroma was a little weak in my opinion, but still had a nice roasted scent. A very well balanced porter.

12 oz bottle shared at the Foam Rangers Club meeting. Pours a dark brown with a big tan head. Aroma of roasty malt. Taste was very good coffee and bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel was medium with a nice dry, bitter aftertaste. I almost didn’t sample this one because I had never heard of it, but glad I did.

12 oz. bottle, pours a dark brown, almost black body with red hue. Brown head. Aroma consists of sweet roasted malts, toffee, and cocoa. Strong roasted malt flavor that ends sweet with coffee and cocoa flavors. Solid medium mouthfeel/body. Dry, bitter coffee aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle pours dark brown with a quickly fading tan head. Sweet smells of toffee, nuts, and blackened malts. Medium light body with ample carbonation. Nice blackened malt flavor with a chocolatey sweetness. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. Pretty good.10/2002

Pours a big thick head that leaves behind a strong lacing. Rocky tan head. Lightly roasty smells. Taste is strong with roastiness and there’s a slight sweetness. Very drinkable.

Thanks to Vance for this one. Black pour, with a medium tan head. Aroma smells like pancakes in a way. It’s sweet and bready. The flavor is well roasted, coffee like, some chocolate. A little light overall, but satisfying all the same.

Inky black pour with an awesome head and some damn impressive lacing. Smells really smoky and dark. I’m actually surprised at how good this smells. Very nice and dark. There is actually a surprisingly prevalent hop presence to this porter. Still dark and malty and roasty but also has the hop presence to complete it. Really nice. Solid ass porter here. Not the best I’ve ever had, but there ain’t nothing wrong with this one....nothing at all..
