| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 15, 2008 Pours a big thick head that leaves behind a strong lacing. Rocky tan head. Lightly roasty smells. Taste is strong with roastiness and there’s a slight sweetness. Very drinkable. wickedpete (629), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA

Aroma smells like pancakes in a way. It’s sweet and bready. The flavor is well roasted, coffee like, some chocolate. A little light overall, but satisfying all the same. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 12, 2008 Inky black pour with an awesome head and some damn impressive lacing.
Smells really smoky and dark. I’m actually surprised at how good this smells. Very nice and dark.
There is actually a surprisingly prevalent hop presence to this porter. Still dark and malty and roasty but also has the hop presence to complete it. Really nice.
Solid ass porter here. Not the best I’ve ever had, but there ain’t nothing wrong with this one....nothing at all.. ketchepillar (497), Des Moines/Grinnell, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2008 Quite a good-looking beer. Aroma: more hops than expected (earthy); buttery caramel sweetness. Taste: caramel, but not as sweet as the aroma foreshadows; instead, it’s a bit chalky. Nothing too dark in here which was nice—truly a porter. Body was a bit thin, w/ a slight watery taste. hellbilly (1566), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2008 bottle from indra. pours a transparent near black hue. it’s topped with a thin reddish tan head that fades into a ring. the aroma is brown sugar, highly roasted malts and nuttiness with hints of chocolate and licorice. flavor and palate are very dry and ashy from the roast on the malts. there is very little sweetness to be found! lingering aftertaste is bitter coffee. thin to medium bodied but it develops a lot of creaminess from the carbonation being sloshed. mistersinalin (378), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2008 There is a very prominant bitterness that follows the very raosty malt body. Good porter. Haslinger (666), Syracuse, New York, USA
