Commercial Description:
A dry, medium-bodied dark ale. Its intense dark-roasted barley malt flavor is perfectly balanced by complex hop character.

Nice black color, with tan, creamy head. Aroma is sweet with some hoppiness and some roasted malt smells. Mouthfeel is rather full, robust. the taste is rich with a very roasted flavor and has some coffee-like flavors, as well. It has a very clean finish, and is highly quaffable.

Black pour with a big tan head. Smell is roasty, but quite hoppy too. Smells like it will be quite bitter. Taste however is nicely rich and roasted malt, with hints of coffee, a touch of mild hops, but not very bitter like the aroma indicated. Perhaps a touch too carbonated for a porter, but it has a good flavor and character to it and is a nice one overall.

Pours out a nice black color with a nice tan head. Aroma is sweet and full of roasted malts. Flavor was not so great at first, but as it warmed it was much better. The finish is very dry and i had to force my self not to guld this brew.

12oz bottle, courtesy of Trevor @ BCTC 2007. Thanks! Pours a dark cola color; light brown head with good retention. Milk chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: milk chocolate, roasted malts, and dry cocoa; well-roasted and chocolaty. Medium, roasted and chocolate-laden finish.

Robe noire surmontée d’une mousse beige qui persiste. Arômes de levures et de café. Saveurs de houblon amérisant terreux et de malt torréfié.

Yummy beer on tap, much hoppier also. To be fair, I rated this in bottle. Pours with a light head of moderate foaminess. Smells of roasted grain. Okay, okay standard stuff. Taste follows suit, not as much hoppiness. Good, but not great.

Pours almost black with very little head. Great roasted malt, smoke and hop flavors with caramel notes. Enjoyable beer to drink.
