Flavor is slightly sour, salty and highly roasted flavors here as well. Not my favorite porter, but a solid beer nontheless. keith0718 (160), Olathe, Kansas, USA

In a blind taste test, I’m sure it could pass for a pale or brown ale. Intense hops with no toasty, buttery maple/caramel malt character which I love in a good porter. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 23, 2007 This is what porters are supposed to taste like! full of rich heavy flavors and complex taste. As an added bonus it is now available in most specialty liquor stores and I no longer have to con relatives into hauling it from KC on visits. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 19, 2007 Bottle: Pretty carbonated body with a short, creamy head; lightly roasty and sweet coffee aroma; simple, balanced and lightly piney-flower hoppiness with a somewhat watery, lightly acidic finish. Just OK. eaglefan538 (2397), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 19, 2007 On tap at Taperwerks. Pours the usual dark brown color, thin head though, and lacing was minimal to zero. The aroma was roasted coffee. The flavor followed suit, coffee and burnt/roasted malts. This thing finished with an assertive biterness after each sip, yet the bitterness seemed to come more from the roasted / burnt malts than any hops? An OK beer. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 13, 2007 Black. Fine mocha head sits and stays, leaving nice lace.
Dark and rich on the nose. A veritable maltfest. Not a lot of complexity, but really nice.
Even better in the mouth. Medium full, with lots of rich, chocolately malt. Lovely balancing bitterness.
Very nice mouthfeel. These simply slide down, but merit contemplation if you want to slow down and appreciate it. Fine food beer as well. TerryR (383), Oswego, Illinois, USA
