Commercial Description:
A dry, medium-bodied dark ale. Its intense dark-roasted barley malt flavor is perfectly balanced by complex hop character.

Dark pour with a frothy brown head. Roasted malt aroma with hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste is great with a nice dry finish- roastd malt, and coffee. left a nice lacing on the glass.

Pours black but lets lots of burgundy light shine through under a perfect creamy tan head. Roasted malts are the predominate smell and taste, but are highlighted by a touch of coffee and just a bit of chocolate. Hops aren’t very apparent in the aroma, but come through as bittering agents in the finish of this brew. Medium body, definitely lighter than the Dry Stout. Great beer, as I’ve come to expect from my hometown brewery.

Wow, I was glad I tried this one. Malty flavor with coffee flavor followed by dark chocolate. Pours a nice dark brown/black with a big tan head. Good lacing on the glass.

Had this awhile back from a Boulevard mix 12-pack. Don’t have good notes, but it was decent stuff - should try again.

12oz bottle from Bubbles Liquor World. Pours dark brown with one finger light tan head. Aroma malty with chocolate, caramel, and light coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and hint of soy sauce. Finishes dry and roasty with bitter coffee. Slighty above average porter.

12 oz. bottle from Woodman’s Market in Madison, WI. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of dark roasted, nutty malts with some moderate floral hops. Flavor of coffee, smoke, and some light bitter hops. Very rich flavor. This is a great porter.

This was easily the best one out of the sampler pack. Poured a deep dark brown color. Some light passing through on the sides. A nice two-finger thick head formed and remained throughout. It left really attractive lacing behind. The smell was what a good roasted beer should smell like. The roasted malts, a hint of chocolate and of course, coffee. The flavor was very much the same with chocolate and roasted coffe coming through nicely. There was a bit of hops and spice in this as well, though only hints of them.
