Jun 27, 2006 (bottle) Deep black with large tan head. Nice lace. Aroma of very roasted malt. Flavor is bitter roast malt with coffee and a hop bitterness in the finish.

Jun 23, 2006 A pleasant earthiness/grassiness abounds in this heavily roasted porter. Dark brown body, tannish head. Roasted malts are heavy in the aroma, along with cocoa and bitter coffee. Thick and full-bodied. Chewy mouthfeel. The hops are mild and the alcohol is very light, which makes this a good beer to have with dinner (as with most porters). Good overall.

Jun 15, 2006 A full to medium body deep brown ale. Plenty of complex roasted malty flavors, just a bit too sweet. Nice hop quality, maybe just a bit shy of enough hop presence but near the top of this class. A very good beer.

Jun 12, 2006 Bottle. Opaque dark brown/black body with a large brown lasting head. Takes a while for the head to settle down to a drinkable level & produces some nice lacing. Roasted aroma & flavor with hints of coffee & sweetness with a dry slightly bittersweet finish. This is a great brew from one of my favorite breweries.

Jun 10, 2006 Black with a fizzy beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted, coffee. Flavor is coco, slightly bitter, with coffee. Somewhat fizzy. Finish is slightly bitter, and dry. A good brew, although I thought the fizzyness detracted.

May 9, 2006 Bottle. Aroma of roasted nuts, molasses, coffee. Muddy black body with a light brown somewhat big head which slowly diminishes, leaving a sizable ring and lace and a coating above the blackness. Muddy & thick looking. Taste is extremely pleasing, an extra long mouthfeel with the roasted nuts and a long hoppy finish. Excellent! One of the best in it’s style. One I will be buying as relatively it is a steal at $6 to $7 for a six pack. I know this is probably Boulevard’s highest rated brew, but based on this I am intrigued to try others in the lineup. Mmmmm!

May 9, 2006 Best by 08/01/06. Pours a clear deep brown wiith a large tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, molasses, pine, and a bit of raisins. Taste follows with a lingering bitter coffee finish. I knew Boulevard wouldn’t let me down with this one.
