| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2005 A huge tan colored head with staying power is what greets you to this beer. Patience is a virtue in this case. Once the foam ebbed the beer underneath was a treat. The usual undertones of a porter were evident such as caramel, coffee, and chocolate. Most notable was the wonderful balance of the beer. A slightly bitter start led to a pleasant sweet finish. In between was pretty good, too. ratman197 (3254), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aromas of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, with just a hint of coffee. Palate was medium bodied and a bit watery for the style. Flavors of bitter chocolate, and some coffee with a dry slightly bitter finish. subliminal (4), USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2005 The first sip had a noticably bitter after taste that I found unpleasant but after the first bottle I grew quite fond of the unique blend of flavors. Anyone who likes dark beers should give Bully a try. allfreej (375), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 12, 2005 Bottled. Pours dark brown with amber highlights. The tan head leaves a fine lace pattern in the glass, and the aroma is that of roasty malt, coffee, and perhaps some chocolate. The flavor is roasted malt, with some chocolate notes. A very fine dry finish and excellent palate--not too carbonated, but with body--make this porter a pleasure to drink. Highly recommended! OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, some coffee and some caramel. Flavor is milk chocolate, roasted malts, caramel and a raisin sweetness at the end that is finished by a coffee bitterness that I really liked. Palate is smooth and pretty well carbonated. A very drinkable porter that I enjoyed much! jeffin7 (610), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Sep 14, 2005 Pours black with a huge light tan head that fades very slowly. Aroma is of roast and mild chocolate. Flavor is a rounded roast, mild chocolate, a slight raisin, a slight smoke, a slight sourness in the finish and aftertaste. Body is light to medium palate is a bit watery. NIce boldly roasty porter the thinner body makes it very drinkable but the finish is just a little to thin. IndianaRed (1560), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2005 Bottle Pours a clear very dark brown/black with the light bulb barley showing some red highlights. Just a skin of a light brown head and thin but even lacing. dark roasted aromas with lots of semiswet chocolate. Flavors are similar. Not very smokey or charcoaly but a nice rounded roasted flavor. Quite lively carbonation and lacking that common sour bite that a lot of porters have. Very nice.
