Aroma is of roast and mild chocolate. Flavor is a rounded roast, mild chocolate, a slight raisin, a slight smoke, a slight sourness in the finish and aftertaste. Body is light to medium palate is a bit watery. NIce boldly roasty porter the thinner body makes it very drinkable but the finish is just a little to thin. IndianaRed (1562), Boise, Idaho, USA

Just a skin of a light brown head and thin but even lacing. dark roasted aromas with lots of semiswet chocolate. Flavors are similar. Not very smokey or charcoaly but a nice rounded roasted flavor. Quite lively carbonation and lacking that common sour bite that a lot of porters have. Very nice.

I had never heard of this brew or brewery before and was really taken by suprise. Pours a very dark brown with a soft light tan head. Very sweet and rich chocolate up front, nice light roastiness with a light touch of coffee in the finish. Very smooth and well built porter. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Thanks to Slob for this one. Malt, Chocolate and hop aroma. Deep black with an unruly two finger thick head. More coffee more roasted barley and more happiness for me. Nothing over the top about this it is just straight forward good and still manges a big feel despite not being desperately hopped like some brewers attempt. Fantastic. Thanks, Slob. This bottle-conditioned brew pours a big brown bubbly head over a dark root beer brown body. Great bubbly effervescence. Taste is of bitter roast malts adding up to a coffee, toffee and bit of smoke. A very fine, deep roasty porter! Firemoose15 (542), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a dark brown almost black with decent froth. Flavor was roast malt and light coffee with just right ammount of hops to balance. Palate was even bodied and finish was clean. I really have to say this was solid and I would definitely send to someone else who’s a porter lover. Good Stuff. bu11zeye (5698), Frisco, Texas, USA

More reddish coloring than the standard, with a small bubbly tan head. Flavor is malt, malt, malt, then a bit of hops to finish. Almost fruit near the end. Mouthfeel is creamy, almost velvet. I like it.
