I drank this as I watched USC shove it up Oklahoma’s ass last night (I like liberal states and hate "Cowboy" states). Pours burnt umber with a big, creamy light tan head. Aroma of malt, chocoff, some prunes and cognac. Tastes malty, with chocoff and a slight rauchy hit at the finality. Very smooth at the finish. A very good porter. movolsfan (11), Parkville, Missouri, USA

I like the coffee taste in it and the fact that while it is very flavorful, it is very smooth. I enjoy this one year round. RateandPillage (417), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

I usually prefer the more robust porters to the dry porters. But, as for Dry Porters, this is a good beer. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2004 Dark-brown walnut color, not quite opague. Smell is milk chocolate, weak coffee, and dry toast. Mouthfeel hard but thin. A little low on the chocolate and a little high on the dry toast for me. A dryish version of a porter. Not bad. Could stand being thicker and sweeter. lizziesage (180), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2004 Bully! Porter poured dark brown and came crowned was large light brown head. It produced a pleasent sweet aroma. The flavor, while having elements of sweetness, was subdued enough that made me second guess its classification. The predominant flavor was a dry roast coffee with a slight bitterness. It finished smooth without much aftertaste. jefcon (1008), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2004 Nots of malt and caramel, more reminiscent fo a stout than of a porter. Reddish brown with a slight diminishing head. This beer’s high points are on flavor, with a heavy roast chocolate presence dominates. Lacing follows the beer down the glass. There be hops here, and they are well-developed in the brew. Best effort from this brewer. civforprez (225), Galesburg, Illinois, USA
