nose of strongly brewed iced coffee. excellent head with a foamy element, pleasing. flavor is acidiic, biting bitterness. very nice hop profile amongst the roast. palate is dry as expected. nice surprise with this beer, not at all what i expected. infinitely sessionable and utterly enjoyable.

well this one has been on my want list since day one when my love for portes ran high things have really changed poured brown, tan head aromas of coffee, roasted malts and hops flavors of the same with soy sauce and black olives an astringent, bitter, long finish, Imo I don’t like a hoppy porters I enjoy the sweeter ones but to each his own

Pours dark brown (I can see through it though) with a moderate tan head. Aroma is nutty, leafy, with chocolate, mild coffee, and a slight bit of raisin. Mellow nose, but complex. Tastes largely earthy with chocolate and coffee at first, quickly followed by dirt, nuts and leaves. This flirts with astringency but that quality is kept in check and actually stands out as a way to separate this from more stout charactersistics. Plenty of hop flavor. Finishes with earth and leaves, a bit of char, and a strong roasty aftertaste. Almost light bodied, but far from unsatisfying in texture. High-ish carbonation. It’s nice to have a porter that’s flavorful, complex, far from heavy and it actually uses that astringent characteristic I typically hate to its advantage. Good.

Dark reddish brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is strong chocolate and raisin. Some dark roast coffee and light anise/licorice tones. Flavour is chocolate and coffee. Light to medium bitterness and a medium body. Some lingering burnt bitterness that is not unpleasant.

This is interesting because it is more brown than black and kind of light in color compared to what I usually expect from a porter. Great head, but it smells a lot more like a brown ale and the taste follows suit. This is a fine enough beer but doesn’t remind me of a porter except for the slightest bit of coffee flavor. (bottle from Weber St Liquor in Colorado Springs). Pours a black color. Medium tan, creamy head. Light malt aroma. Roasted malt flavor. Long duration. Sligthly astringent. Thin texture. Fair lacing. Soft carbonation.

Dark ruby-brown, almost black pour into tan head that quickly dissipates into ring of lacing that melts down the glass. Aroma of roasted malt. Initial flavor of roasted coffe with hints of sweet dark chocolate fading into a slightly bitter chocolatey finish.
