This porter doesn’t mess around! Full and satisfying aroma, flavor and mouthfeel. Coffee roast nose tempered by some honeyed biscuit. Trending on the bitter side the flavor starts with coffee, a lesser amount of chocolate, cigar smoke, and that same acid tartness. Long dry smokey coffee bean finish. A wonderfully bitter porter; kudos to Heemer for throwing this beer my way! hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA

It hada good aroma, and it looked nice. I just couldn’t stand the taste of this. It was sour and bitter. Not my style. I’ll have to try it once more to rule out a bad bottle, but I doubt my results will end up any different. lizzy (44), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA

Faint malt, roasty nose. Light body, thin. Light caramel notes on the palate, cola like flavors. Pop mouthfeel. Dry finish. Thanks Indra. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2004 Poured opaque ruby black with tan head that thinned, but never left...rich roasty malt aroma...smells very dry...didn’t get nearly as much cocoa as coffee in the flavor dept...body seemed a little thin for the style though...crisp hoppy finish...quite yummy... | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 3, 2004 Bottle: Poured a opaque dark beer with a medium head with standard retention for porter. Aroma is quite roasty with some notes of chocolate and coffee. Taste is very enjoyable with the chocolate and coffee mixing very well with the roastiness and ending with a subtle dryness in the back of my mouth. Good hops mix with an above average body. This is an easy beer to drink after a nice big dinner.
