Opaque, oily dark brown pour with a persistent, thick tan head, chocolate malty nose, brown sugar and malty flavor, slightly bitter hints of coffee, an excellent sample of the style.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2009 A dark brown beer with a nice looking head. The aroma had some chocolate. The taste was very chocolatey, slight roastedness & a creamy mouthfeel. This is a nice porter with a fair amount of hops. rader58 (194), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Pours a dark brown/black. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla. Taste is malt forward with a chocolate and coffee flavor. Slightly bitter finish with a smokey flavor. Overall, a nice porter. I liked the Aroma better than the flavor. VitaminR (442), Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Milk chocolate and fruity nose. Black/brown color, with a red hue hidden deep, medium tan head. Roasted sweet malts, spicy bitterness. Huge carbonation, medium body, spicy chocolate finish. Maybe a little big on the roasted malts, but a pretty solid Porter, spicy fruity components make it stand out. kuphish (161), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours a giant, frothy-creamy, brown head. Lasting, pitted and lacy. Deep, clear, ruby-cola brown body. Big dark, bitter chocolate and coffee roast nose. More prominent roast character in the flavor profile along with a dash of ash. Underlying bitter chocolate and hints of fireplace smoke. Medium, fairly well attenuated body. Average carbonation for the style. Nice roasty dry finish. Probably my favorite robust porter to date. Full of flavor. As an added bonus, it only clocks in at 5.4%. Time for another! deyholla (734), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours near black (a bit closer to brown on the outside) with a medium brown head that dissolved quickly. Aroma is full of malts with a bit of chocolate, nuttiness and roasted notes. Flavor is similar to the aroma with a bit more of dark grain notes. rcasta (489), El Salvador

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 4, 2009 12 oz bottle in trade with Soonah. Pours a dark brown with mahogany edges with a good 1/2" beige head that slowly recedes leaving rings of brown lace. Roasted malt aroma with a hint of coffee. Moderate in body. Flavor is chocolate malt with some coffee and a hint of vanilla. Nice porter. joechristenson (29), Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 30, 2009 The aroma is quite faint, sort of a bready sweetness is the best I can make out. Good tan head, clings and lasts for a while. Opaque, but luminescent around the outside -- deep dark brown in the middle, and tinctures of caramel brown frame it. Subtle flavors come through more in the aftertaste -- the carbonation hits first and leaves a bready, roasted chocolate flavor . . . nuts, too. Not getting much coffee. Perhaps too lively w/ the CO2 . . . a decent, quaffable porter. I could definitely drink a few of these in one sitting . . .
