Grainy dry malt, caramel and citrus in the nose. Fairly standard fare. Full, nearly chew in feel. Full caramel flavors embraced by pine and citric hops. Seems muted at points. THe malt suggests english, the hops are purely american. douglas88 (1626), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 26, 2009 750 ml bottle from the Bayou. Pours a orange-amber color with a medium white fluffy head. The aroma is mostly sweet hops, caramel malts also. The flavor was decent; sweet citrus and earthy hops, easygoing with lots of caramel malts balancing it out. Nice. A good brew. A good creamy mouthfeel. uhclem (192), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2009 750 ml bottle corked and banded like a champagne bottle. I needed pliers to get the cork out. Pours an opaque brownish-orange with a HUGE head and substantial lacing. Nose is of malt & caramel backed by citrus. The caramel and malt come through in the taste, with hints of pine and citrus developing later. Mouthfeel is good - above average. Finish is nicely bitter and affects the whole mouth. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 18, 2009 Orange-brown, foamy beige head. Nose of orange, some bitterness, pine, cleaning product, and spice. Flavor has a ton of caramel, apple, orange, and spice. There is only minor bitterness from the hops. A little thin and short, but some nice piney citrus in the finish. Too much going on without any real coherence, but I like a lot of the elements.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2009 750ml Bottle (Batch 8303): Thanks waolsen! Aroma of hops, grapefruit, pine, and caramel malt. Poured deep amber/copper/orange in color with a large, fluffy, beige head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Flavor is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, grapefruit, pine, caramel, malts, resin, citrus, and a hint of sugar. Medium body. Smooth, dry texture. Average carbonation. Bitter and sweet, hoppy, caramel, resin and pine finish is dry. Very well balanced. Cavie (1439), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Dark red, rusty color. Large head response that is frothy and lasting. Gorgeous aroma! By far the best part of this brew as it is full of sweet hops and fruit. Maybe strawberries? First sip leaves a large tingle on the tongue. Several flavors are packed into this beauty. A strong pack of hops is immediately felt, followed by sweet hints and alcohol. Even more flavors apparent on the finish. Lingering hop bitterness that edges into a bready taste. Some sweetness still lasts. The strong bitterness on the finish is the only drawback to this beer. jezmez68 (334), Chesterton, Indiana, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Apr 11, 2009 This is a great IPA. I think this should be categorized as an Imperial IPA. It’s as good as Bell’s Hopslam, which is my favorite beer. Big, white, fluffy head. Orangeish. Awesome. Only 55 IBU? The dry-hopping is deceiving here. Taverner (861), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Overly sweet and syrupy. Cloying. Also has a stale malt flavor, with very little hoppage. Maybe its just me, and I need to try this one again, but it just didn’t work for me.
