Commercial Description:
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Bravo, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Champagne bottle with cork and cage (oddly enough, I thought about saving the bottle for bottling homebrew because champagne bottles rock, but it isn’t the right size for a normal bottle cap). Okay, on to the beer. nice aroma -- lots of citrus. taste....okay, well I’m not sure how much age was on this but it doesn’t have quite the assertive bite that a fresh double IPA has, but the mellow solid malt backbone definately comes through. sweet carmel with some nuttiness. Carbonation is soft. This beer is rich and satisfying. Realy would love to have on tap sometime. well done Boulevard (Even my wife liked this looks like she is coming around to hoppier beers).

This is the best American IPA I’ve ever had. It pours with a foamy white head with a rich amber-colored body. Citric aroma and very hoppy, good flavor. The effect it has on the palate is what separates this IPA from others. Good, rich beer!

Bottle sampled at RBSG ’08. Pours with an amber-gold body topped by a thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and hoppy with notes of pine and grapefruit adn a nice maltiness. Medium to full bodied, smooth and slightly warming.

Pours dark gold amber, with a medium off white head. Smells of rich crisp hops, with a nice little malt backbone and citrus as well. Standard IPA nose. The flavor was nicely balanced, the citrus fruit came through a bit more I thought with a little peppery spice in there too. The hop bitterness gave it a bite in the finish and was very warming going down for some reason. Nice IPA. Very solid.

Bottle at RBSG grand tasting. Thanks to whoever brought it. Pours a murky copper color with a big off-white head. The Aroma was of fresh biter hops with citrus and floral notes. The taste was hops forward with complex biter hops pine, grapefruit and chlorophyll. The mouthfeel was full and malty. The finish was long and biter. Overall: A very impressive IPA

This brewery is hammering some dingers. This is a very good (1.5X) IPA. Creamy with grapefruit. There is more hop than bitterness. The balance is terrific.
