Apr 18, 2008 Bottle, This is an IPA not an IIPA, for that fact it was quite good, hops character are grapefruit, pine, citrus, nice well balanced and considering that the abv is above 8 the alcohol is well hidden. Nicely done IPA.

Apr 14, 2008 Corked 750. Balanced, malty with caramel. Not as hoppy as what I expect in a double IPA. Smooth and drinkable.

Apr 14, 2008 Corked and caged 750 mL bottle - shared by barleyPops. Thanks! Murky orange colored pour with a big fluffy white head. Aroma was mainly citrus with a definite caramel malt backbone. Flavor was very similar. Citrusy and fruity although not very bitter. Plenty of malt to balance things out. Smooth drinking, very balanced IIPA. Probably too balanced for most hop-heads. Not outstanding but still very tasty.

Apr 10, 2008 Pretty decent IPA. Nice opaque orange color with off white head. Aroma is of bitter hops and citrus. Very average IPA taste, with a bitter hop finish featuring notes of honey. Would drink again.

Apr 9, 2008 Well, I got this beer from a guy at work who bought it for me on trip to Missouri. Aroma is pretty lacking, in fact, it’s hard to get much from it at all. Flavor is quite a bit better, plenty of bitter hops. The flavor is not as big as I would like it to be for a DIPA, however. It’s not bad, I won’t seek it out again though.

Bottle: The aroma has lots of citrus, yeast, citrus hops, and light fruit. It pours a hazy amber with some very fine sediment and a large soapy off-white head that leaves behind clumpy lacing. The flavor starts with lots of citrus fruit. There is a weird fruitiness in the background that doesn’t work for me. The finish has moderate citrus hops with some light caramel. The off-fruitiness seems to fade slightly as it warms, but it’s still unpleasant to me. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Apr 4, 2008 corked 750 from mruesch, thanks Matt! poured a slightly hazy orange-amber with a good looking off-white head. aroma was of fresh citrus and a hint of pine. flavor was mildly bitter with some sweet caramel lurking. more balanced than hoppy for a double IPA, but still very enjoyable.

Mar 31, 2008 Big thanks to mreusch for this gem. Pours a clear copper with nice sized frothy off-white head. Citrus and pine nose with some sweetness from the malt. Flavor is hoppy yet mellowed by the sweet malt with some oak hints. Medium body with a clean and dry finish.
