Commercial Description:
Boulevard Dry Stout is velvety black and perfectly opaque, and topped by a thick, creamy head. This very drinkable, delicate beer is a delightful harmony of smoky roasted flavors with a silky smooth finish. Now available in bottles.

Pours fairly dark black with a small beige head. Smell is faint dark fruit and roasted malts. Not too strong, and almost a cherry note. Taste is thin and watery dark malt with a hint of tartness again. A bit of a drying character, but too thin and unremarkable to recommend. Not very good.

I try not to fall victim to the "hey, we’re making stout now" craze that seems to sweep up the more ’corporate’ of the micro brews. I wasn’t going to try this one either but at 4.95 a sixer........nuff said. Different lable, same problem. Have any of these folks ever tried a stout, a real stout full of creamy goodness? At best we have a fairly drinkable porter. It is not opaque, it is black like a black lager or ale. Light colored head of large bubbles that dissapear way to quickly. Initial taste is lightly sweet chocolate that dissolves quickly into very very faint coffee and smoke. You are left with a very dry palate and a tounge that is still stinging from the carbonation. Very drinkable, not bad as simply a descent beer, but not a stout. Stout should go down like skim milk. With fine bubbles sticking to the side of your glass. You take the second swallow and you close your eyes and the angels begin to sing, you see your ancestors reaching out for you from a beige cloud. Arth Guinness is there, and he is making out with your great aunt Cloe...... UPDATE: Shook bottle and poured into pint glass. After the foaming and setling the carbo was way less overpowering. Much better beer this way. Great flavor! Head stayd with the beer all the way down. I would have another, in fact i think i will.

Pours total black with small white head. Nose of roasted coffee and chocolate, with some flowery hops coming through. Tastes of burnt chocolate and coffee. Mouthfeel was much too watery for a stout. Not a good representation of the style.

Not overly impressed by this one. Very light aroma with moderate coffee malts and some lighty piney hops. Pours with a very creamy light brown head that goes away very quickly. Flavor is smoke and coffee and very dry the entire time. Mouthfeel is similarly dry and overly carbonated.

Bottle pours out mahogany with a nice khaki head. Restrained aroma of coffee and a hint of chocolate. Medium body is somewhat overcarbonated. Roasty bitterness with some chocolate, coffee and nuttiness in the taste. Mundane.

Pours a dark black brown color with a small tan head. Nose is roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, smoke, chocolate, coffee, brown sugar. Finish is medium and mouthfeel is medium to thick. Drinkability is somewhat low. I like my dry stouts more refreshing.
