Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (roasted grain, cocoa, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a light note of minerals. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A straightforward, quaffable example. Noticeable noble hop aroma. A little rough/grainy in the malt department. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 12, 2007 Bottle. Pours black with garnet highlights and a small, fizzy tan head that diminishes rapidly. The nose is of burnt molasses and dark roasted malt with a bit of bandage in the background, but that fades as the beer warms. Light-bodied and prickly on the tongue, it finishes bitter and dry. The flavor follows the nose and the name is not a lie; this is exceptionally dry out of the bottle. Heavy burnt/roasted malt dominate. As much as it pains me to say, I actually prefer this one on nitro. VikingHammer (363), Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 29, 2007 Dark and clear, with a massive loose tan head. Chocolate and caramel malt aromas over a slight hop note. Very light, and dry (duh). A bit more bitter than expected. Likely due to the absence of malt. clasley (153), Arkansas, USA
