12oz bottle, courtesy of Trevor @ BCTC 2007. Thanks! Pours a dark brown color; light tan head with good lacing. Cocoa and roasted malts in the aroma. Creamy, lightly carbonated, velvety mouthfeel: nice roasted malts, cocoa and dry chocolate; very drinkable. Medium, cocoa and dry chocolate finish.

Bottle (BB 08/13/09). Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (roasted grain, cocoa, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a light note of minerals. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A straightforward, quaffable example. Noticeable noble hop aroma. A little rough/grainy in the malt department.

Robe noire surmontée d’une mousse beige qui persiste. Arômes de malt torréfié. Saveurs de malt torréfié et de malt caramélisé.

Bottle. Pours black with garnet highlights and a small, fizzy tan head that diminishes rapidly. The nose is of burnt molasses and dark roasted malt with a bit of bandage in the background, but that fades as the beer warms. Light-bodied and prickly on the tongue, it finishes bitter and dry. The flavor follows the nose and the name is not a lie; this is exceptionally dry out of the bottle. Heavy burnt/roasted malt dominate. As much as it pains me to say, I actually prefer this one on nitro.

Pour opaque black with a small tan head. Nice roasted aroma. Roasted flavor with hints of fruits. Thin for a stout. Would not try again.

Dark and clear, with a massive loose tan head. Chocolate and caramel malt aromas over a slight hop note. Very light, and dry (duh). A bit more bitter than expected. Likely due to the absence of malt.

355 ml bottle. Pours an opaque black with a moderate tan head. Roasted malt nose with a slightly sweet edge. Smooth rather light body with a nice roasted malt profile. Dry finish with a very subtle tartness.
