| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2005 Dark brown, almost black body with a fast diminshing brown head that left oily lacing all down the glass. Roasted malts, some coffee, carmel, molasses, and cholcolate in the aroma. Weak taste by comparison to the aroma. Roasted malts, molasses and some wood came out in the taste. Tingly, thin watery feel. Not a good stout. JohnC (2285), Mission Viejo, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2005 This bottled beer poured a deep, dark brown with highlights of garnet. The head was thin, fizzy and light tan dissipating quickly leaving almost no lacing on the glass. The first impression aroma is of sweet, dried fruit - dates or raisins. Then the malt comes through loud and clear. The flavor is smooth and earthy with highlights of smoked malt. The finish has some alcohol warmth to it as well. BBB63 (4252), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 6, 2005 Bottled: Nearly opaque with a fizzy tan and fading head which produced little lace. The aroma has notes of chalky and earthy yeast esters, mocha and burnt malts, coffee, aromatic hops, and a touch of sour citrus. The taste starts with a balanced bittersweet offering with a minor apple and mint undertone. The finish has coffee, smoke, and bitters notes. The feel is fizzy and light, minimal body. Quite average and quaffable, a common stout. (Boulevard’s Bully Porter is much better) jus10cider82 (67), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 6, 2005 (12oz/shaker) Pours deep and dark with very little head that quickly runs away leaving no lacing. Smells of chocolate and must. Malt with coffee notes run this beer. I wanted to like this one coming from KC and all, but I don’t. The bad bitter finsh was the worst. Dry chocolate/earth followed by coffee and berry in the aroma. Coffee malt flavor with a distracting watery/aluminum presence. Not very good. Ray1975 (251), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 22, 2005 Thanks to beer handy for this. Pours black with ruby menisci through light. Aroma of malt, chocoff, slight prunes and licorice. Tastes malty, with more chocoff, prunes, and a slight dry finish. Firm, smooth palate. As it warmed, the dark fruit and licorice intensified, and I even caught a frankfurterish rauchy element. Nice. Boulevard beers impres me.
