Commercial Description:
Boulevard Dry Stout is velvety black and perfectly opaque, and topped by a thick, creamy head. This very drinkable, delicate beer is a delightful harmony of smoky roasted flavors with a silky smooth finish. Now available in bottles.

I’m not a huge stout fan but this one was not bad. Dark pour with tan color head. Roasted malt and chocolate flavor.

I am not a big fan of dry stouts. This one had the pour of any other stout, but lacked the sweetness that I have come to expect from so many of them. It lives up to the dry label with a dry, bitter finish.

Reviewed 2/22/2009 (bottle BB 02/13/09): Pours a very inky black colored body, a little brown around the edges of the glass. Big foamy tan brown head, lasting, with decent lacing. Dry coffee aroma, some slight bittersweet chocolate too. Roasted aromas, some ash. Watery body, ash taste, roasted and coffee flavors, some toffee too. Roasted aftertaste. Some slightly burnt coffee taste too. Pretty tasty. Light for a stout, almost porter-like.

Coffee/chocolate scent. Tastes a little bit smokey with some coffee and vanilla tones. Tastes sharper than most stouts- really the one that comes to mind is Rogue Shakespeare Stout, although the Boulevard isn’t nearly as complex or tasty. Still, you could do a lot worse.

120z bottle. Pours deep reddish brown, capped with a medium sized tan head. Aroma is primarily roasted malt, with some coffee highlights. Malty sweetness dominates the flavor at first, and is joined by cocoa and coffee which sticks around for a brief finish. Fairly thin bodied. Straightforward, and a bit too sweet for me.

12oz bottle courtesy of dakid618. Pours a dark cola brown to black color with a one finger off-white head that settles quickly to virtually nothing. Aroma is roasted and malty with notes of coffee grounds, dirt, dark chocolate with some hints of ripe dark fruit and faint sweetness. Flavor is also roasted and malty but thin with coffee, toffee, dark chocolate and some ripe dark fruit and molasses notes. Generally medium body with a thin malty coffee finish.
