One complaint is that the finish is incredibly short, I like a stout that leaves you with flavor for more than a couple seconds. Maybe the bottle I had was old.... I like the Bully! Porter a lot more. EithCubes (2171), Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 23, 2008 Bottle. Lovely roast and dark chocolate nose with light berries in the nose, hinting at mocha but not showing. Pitch pour with the usual gorgeous pillowy tan head. Taste is very, very dry with medium-strength burned notes and light nuttiness, not ashy but still evocative. Carbonation is strong (and somewhat excessive) in such a watery body, otherwise smooth feel throughout. Yeast has some nice mineral tones but comes off as a little too homebrewy. A little better than a standard session. Burrobuns (81), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2008 One of the lighter colored stouts I have tried. Fairly flat flavor profile. Bitter. Roast coffee, malt. Not much of a flavor left afterwards. Not much to distinguish it from anything. ansermadide (523), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 5, 2008 Bottle at home from sample 12 pack on December 4, 2008. Nice light brown head. Thick, dark brown -nearly- black color with an orange hue. Dry stout aroma with a hint of sweetness. Flavor is a little oaky with a sweet, hoppy undertone. A little sweetness hits the tip of the tongue after the drink goes down, leaving no other unique or distinguishable finish. Very decent. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 16, 2008 Pours very dark brown/black in color. No head forming on the pour. Smell is roasted black malts and some slight coffee.
Taste is a bit more astringent coffee. Some more roasted malt, but not much else going on.
A little bitter and astringent on the mouthfeel. Smooth and a bit thin. Decent, but I much prefer their Bully Porter over all the others. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2008 Bottle courtesy of mreusch. Pours brown with a thin white/off-white head. Smells of earth, sweet malt, some citrus. Tastes of caramel, earth, tea, light spice. drfabulous (1275), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2008 Nothing fancy. Basic stout on par with Schlafly’s Irish Stout. Bit dark and creamy, but won’t excite you too much. SuzyGreenberg (1408), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2008 12 oz. bottle - thanks to brewczar for the trade; thin, cola brown with tan head quickly fading; fresh, soapy and nutty aromas; dry, charcoal like flavors; surprising that their bully porter is so good but this is pretty poor; oh well, boulevard still rocks in my book
