Pours black with a small tan head. smells of dark malts, swet roast, and hints of dark chocolate and coffee. the flavor is pretty hot, moreso than even the 11% lets on. Pretty intense brew. Traces of molasses and coffee, along with dark chocolate and toasted malts formulate its flavor profile. Pretty big and intense brew. Very bold and i like that in my impys.

Mar 14, 2009 Test batch tasted at brewery in November. Dark pour with a frothy tan head. Roast and chocolate. Flavor is a bit chalky. Smooth with low carbonation.

Mar 12, 2009 Some nice stuff, a good but not special RIS. Black in color with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts with alcohol noticeable. Flavor is roasty with dark chocolate and coffee, slight hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is average for the style, fairly full.

Mar 10, 2009 Sampled at the bockyhorsey event. Courtesy of Nick I think? Thanks! Pours a super dark brown. Aroma is of oatmeal, roasted grain, and some alcoholic punch. Taste has lots of alcohol, roast, and carbonation. Little bit of vanilla and somewhat smoky. Too carbonated for a RIS in my book, but good otherwise. Perhaps give it some time to age out some of the booziness.

Mar 8, 2009 Thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is roasted malt, chocolate, anise, chicory, and some hops. Flavor is very similar with some coffee, anise sweetness, earth, and noticeable hops. Medium mouthfeel and enough sweetness to it, but still some hops to it. Interesting.

Mar 8, 2009 Courtesy ChzMan. Black. Dense beige head. Bittersweet dark chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, anise, biscuity malt, oak, light dose of vanilla, bit of hops on the finish, and a touch of alcohol. Full body, carbonation is soft but more than moderate. Very nice imperial stout. Drinkable big brew.
