Clear dark dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, coffee, wood notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, chocolate, a alcohol burn / warm finish. Feb 27, 2009 Amber-accented dark brown. Nice big head. The aroma is of cheap coffee with some alcohol and light nuts. Creamy body. Some dark roast/toast notes. Overall, though, this is a pretty standard issue impy that fails to make any particular impression.

Sep 13, 2009 Black with a huge deep beige head. Sweet aroma with burned malt, dark chocolate and espresso notes. Flavour was sweet with burned malt, dark chocolate, espresso and hoppy notes. Finished burned and bitter.
