Commercial Description:
Boulevard Irish Ale, our springtime seasonal beer, is patterned after red ales that have a rich Irish heritage. Our recipe combines five kinds of malt to provide a complex, toasty flavor and reddish hue. Nugget and English Kent Golding hops are added to enhance the beer’s complexity and to produce a pleasing balance.

Pour is red with a small white head. Aroma is malty but nothing really stands out. Flavor is caramel and toffee with a touch of hops. Overall nothing to overpower but its better than Killians.

From a 12 oz. stubby twist cap brown bottle with a blurb about the ale on the neck label and a "Best By" date on shoulder of bottle, 05/01/06. Made a good appearance, poured a red hued milk chocolate brown with a nice creamy pale tan head that reduced to a thin creamy lacing. Had more of a caramel/toffee malt aroma even though chocolate malts were used, hints of roasted barley and a piney, citric hoppiness. Medium carbonation and a slick, smooth light bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability. Had a big piney, citric hop taste with an underlining toffee maltiness and a dry, hoppy finish, a little nuttiness in the aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle, best by05/01/06. Pours a clear reddish amber with a moderate-sized lasting creamy beige head (too many adjectives!). Aroma of toffee toasted malts, and some slight hop spiciness. Taste is more of the same--definitely more malty than hoppy, with a lingering bitterness. Been drinking Boulevard for years, and this is the first time I’ve finally gotten around to getting the Irish ale. Not bad at all.

12 oz bottle, via KUEric. Pours a clear dark copper with a small fizzy white head. Very small amount of sediment in bottle. Aroma of toasted malt. Fruity with touches of toffee and bread. Flavor is lightly malty with a light bitter finish. Kinda fruity with definate wheat character on the finish as well. Light bodied with way too much carbonation. An easy drinking beer, but not a whole lot to get excited about. Mouthfeel was a little distracting with all the carbonation.

12 oz Bottle: Pours a beautiful deep brown color, with a thick, four-fingered fluffy golden-reddish-brown head that lingered around for a good five minutes. Although its an irish ale, I couldn’t help but think this what a beer should like in a british pub -stupid american i suppose mixing the two, especially since my dad used to live in england. Anyways, back to the beer, the aroma was carmel, malts, bread, apple sweetness. The taste is appley, malty, hoppy, wheat, caramel, and slightly metallic. TYhe taste warmed into a more hoppy beer than the original few sips.

Poured a dark red brown clear color with a small amount of fizzy white head. Aroma is very nice and fruity with also caramel sweet hints. Flavor is delicious, sweet malts, switches to a sharp hop flavor then back to a sweet caramel finish. overall, definitely a good one.

Nice dark amber color, small white head that had a short hang time then faded leaving little behind. The aroma was malty caramel and some slight hops. The flavor comes off as much the same but as it warms up the caramel becomes a little more pronounced and makes the brew a little more pleasant then it was.Very nice brew and hopefully this will be back in when in season not 8 months late like in this one horse town.

Thanks doppelganger for the bottle! Red color, with creamy off-white head. Caramel malt aroma with a slightly metallic sense. Taste is surprisingly rich and sweet. Smooth malts and some hop balance and hints of citrus to make it pretty drinkable. Mouthfeel is crisp. Aftertaste is slightly roasty. Good stuff.
