Commercial Description:
Boulevard Irish Ale, our springtime seasonal beer, is patterned after red ales that have a rich Irish heritage. Our recipe combines five kinds of malt to provide a complex, toasty flavor and reddish hue. Nugget and English Kent Golding hops are added to enhance the beer’s complexity and to produce a pleasing balance.

Usually I really like the Boulevard products. Somehow, for me, this one missed the mark. It is not much more than an average Irish Ale in my book. Looks like by the total average rating I am outnumbered...oh well, personal preference.

From a bottle provided by dm9831 - It poured a clear reddish amber body with a substantial ecru head but little lace. The aroma is sweet and malty with a touch of butterscotch and some herbal/floral hoppiness. The flavor is smooth and malty, has some toast and a hint of orchard fruit, all balanced out by a moderate bitterness. Dry finish. Nice sessionable ale.

IFrom a bottle poured a dark slightly hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with quite a lot of fruit and hops combined with light notes of caramel. The flavor ihas a very dry bitter end.

Think of it as a bitter Killians. It’s not terrible, but I can think of any number of ales I’d rather have. It’s got a bitter aftertaste and has virtually no complexity of flavor. Again, it’s really not horrible, but I probably won’t be getting this one again.

I was pretty surprised that I hadn’t rated this one. Amber in color with a small thin, off-white head. Nice, spicy flavor. This was better than I expected.

Pours orange to amber, thin brown head, cinnamon malt aroma, dry hops are balanced with sweet tones, leaves a roasted dry aftertaste, very balanced.

Bottle from BevMo. Deep maroonish in color. Dried bready aroma with a bit of earthiness. Dry and malty flavors up front. Good malt character. Some English hoppiness. Very bitter finish.
