Tastes strongly of wheat. Finish is a bit medicinal. could be the yeast strain. I agree with mcdermott, not great, but a decent commercial example of the style DrnkMcDermott (1851), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2008 12 oz. bottle. All I knew about this was the label mentioning wheat, but I figured this to be a dunkelweizen when it poured a deep dark brown, with a thin ring of foam. Smell is nice, if a bit faint. Taste has clean toasty malts and easily detectable wheat, with a bit of treacle. Clean lager finish, but there is a bit of lactic aftertaste. There are not too many bottled American dunkelweizens out there, and most brewpub versions are big and chewy. But this one is just fine as commercial beers go. bhensonb (4289), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Bottle from D&J Liquor of St. Louis, MO. Dark amber color with a decent beige head that went down fast. Smells a bit like old style linoleum paste. Medium body with very mild carbonation. The instant impression is restrained banana, with some dark grainy malt sweetness. It has a decent amount of citrus like bitter. Finishes like it ought. For me it’s refreshing. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 29, 2008 Dark brown with a small head that quickly dissolves. Tasted more like a sweet malted drink. I can’t say that I enjoyed this beer. Part of a 12 pack sampler. jujubeast6000 (784), Houston, Texas, USA

Light fruity aroma., but not very strong Light Belgiany taste, light fruity taste. Frothy taste, creamy. Pretty good taste. lithy (1725), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Dark dark cloudy orange. Small dissipating off white head with no lacing. Sweet candied aroma, plummy, grapes and dark fruits like most belgians. Body is very light, slight chocolate notes mixed with a smooth amber malt sweetness. No lingering flavors is by far the most disappointing part of this beer. Decent tastes and aromas but too thin to be memorable. Goodgrief (1152), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Unremarkable brown pour with a bready malt backbone. Lots of roast and some banana notes. Thin and watery and a bit astringent. Not my favorite beer. DasGrau (18), Topeka, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2008 Poured a brownish color. Not too bad but compared to what I have been drinking, It seemed a bit "light". If you like to do chugging competitions from das boot this will be a good choice.
