Intense burnt sugar aroma with bright hop notes. The flavor is a little peppery, definitely clove and bananas. Nice dunkel flavor, lightly bitter finish, but the palate is a bit thin. Not bad for the style. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 13, 2007 Light brown with a decent head. Has a smell of smoke, spice, and wheat. Flavor is about the same. Stronger in the smoke than anything with an off dry finish. I can taste fruit but it just gets muddled up in the smokey flavor. This beer is just slightly off to me. I can see people liking it but not my thing. JMerritt (1318), Macomb, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Slightly hazy red-brown w/a small, totally diminishing head. Aroma of raisins, toffee, banana and light roast. Banana, clove and slightly metallic initial flavor, followed by a sour, wheaty/grainy finish. A bit too much carbonation for my taste. Musty, glassy aftertaste. CasperQuaffer (142), Casper, Wyoming, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 6, 2007 Some head on pour. Cloudy, light brown color. Aroma is earthy yeast and fresh grain. Flavor balances hops with a not unpleasant bready, almost cracker-like crispness. Had this one on tap and I was sad to see the bottom of the glass. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 30, 2007 Unremarkable pour...minimal head. Aroma isn’t the most pleasant, but has some hints of spice and yeast (and some skunk). Kind of odd for a Dunkel, but maybe that’s just me...Relatively sweet flavor with some hints of lemon and coriander...not unlike some hefes. Not the best from Boulevard... drfabulous (1240), Columbia, Missouri, USA

Pretty understated ale all around. I thought this was more of an English brown ale with less roasted malts...flavor was malty and sweet. Definitely sessionable. Not bad. fortheshire (1), USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Great intro into boulevard’s world. Does carry a seemingly Lunar taste. A very good seasonal ale.
