Commercial Description:
Boulevard Lunar Ale is a cloudy, russet brown beer, with subtle aromatic notes provided by our special proprietary yeast strain. Lunar Ale’s distinctive rounded, mellow flavor is crowned by a crisp, dry finish. The old world art of bottle conditioning creates a secondary fermentation, resulting in a beer that tastes fresher, better, longer.

Described by the owner of the pub as tasting like "dirty mop water." I don’t agree with that statement, but do agree that this is a horrible beer, maybe this one SHOULD have been filtered, at least then it would taste like water (coors) instead of crap.

Yes. Just about as average as a dark wheat can be. Cloudy reddish brown with a small head. Nose did not say much to me. Taste could not make up its mind if it wanted to be cloves and spice and banana or pepper and lemon, so it decided to do neither with any conviction. Slightly sour without being citrus, slightly spicey without being clovey. Not bad with a great steak, but not very interesting either.

Bottle from Friar Tuck’s in Savoy, IL. Pours a muddy brown with a beige head and large soda like carbonation bubbles. Faint aroma of banana bread and clove. Medium bodied with prickly carbonation and a somewhat thin texture. This beer is pretty much dark wheat malt, yeast, and clove. Semi dry finish and subtle hoppiness to balance out the malt. Not much residual sweetness or body, and overcarbonated. Quite disappointing.

On tap. The pour was a swirl of copper, brown and some ruby highlights. A nice off-white head sits on top and offers up some webbed lacing. The aroma was yeast, clove, brown sugar and some roasted malt. The flavor was dominated by yeast and clove. The mouthfeel was watery but the finish was decent. A nice diversion.

Draught > Some Irish pub on 15th in Tulsa. Uhhh, not so good there buddy. It’s not lacking flavor but the flavor it has just isn’t very good. Not offensive but not good. OK drinkable b/c of the ABV but still not tasty enough to try again.

Bottle. Cloudy orange with a small head. Taste was very yeasty, with banana and cloves. Also brown sugar and dark fruits. Medium bodied.

sample bottle @ BCTC 2007. Nice session beer after drowning myself in Belgians all day. Tasty brown with some Belgian yeast. Well done beer
