Commercial Description:
Boulevard Lunar Ale is a cloudy, russet brown beer, with subtle aromatic notes provided by our special proprietary yeast strain. Lunar Ale’s distinctive rounded, mellow flavor is crowned by a crisp, dry finish. The old world art of bottle conditioning creates a secondary fermentation, resulting in a beer that tastes fresher, better, longer.

Bottle, thanks to Casey for this one Poured mid brown colour with quite high carbonation and small white head. Had a spicier aroma than I was expecting backed up with some yeast not unlike a Belgian beer in that department. Flavour wise, whilst I consider this to be a pleasant session beer that I could happily quaff away all night on I felt it was a little bit lacking and never quite lived up to that early promise. This was a nice fresh beer with good malty base the spices also came back but maybe I served it a bit cool because Loz had put this in the fridge and it tasted better once it warmed up a bit.

Pours a hazy amber with a small head. Aroma is belgiumy (spicy and banana-like). Taste is very thin with a hint of a deeper maltiness. Very meh.

12 oz bottle: Pours a hazy medium brown with a minimal head that quickly vanishes to nothing. Aroma is roasty. Roasted malt, some sweetness and a little clove are what the flavor is all about. The palate is hard to describe, effervescent yet lingering. An average beer but not something I need to revisit.

Good job, Boulevard! This is tasty stuff! One of my new favorites! I enjoyed the nice nutty aroma, smelled slighty of banana, but not too overwhelming... Good smooth finish, Lunar has definitely found a spot in my fridge. Being from Kansas City, I mght be biased, but I definitely recommend this for someone wanting to try something new.

[Yawn] Not much here. Pours copper with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt. Light body with light carbonation. Unremarkable flavor.

pours slightly hazy copper with moderate head. aroma is lightly spicy with a hint of banana showing through and a tiny bit of caramel sweetness. taste is thin spicy with some tang and only a fleck of deeper malt. pretty insipid stuff.

Aroma of wheat, spicy grains, and raisins. Watery dark malts, grapes, tangy lemon, and belgian wheat for flavor. Thin and tart mouthfeel. Is this a hit or miss? I can’t tell!

Bottle poured into a weizen. I have had this a few times before, from both a bottle and on tap. For some reason, perhaps the glass, this was the best sample that I’ve tried. It pours a hazy, dark, root beer brown with a frothy, beige, diminishing head. The nose is dominated by the yeast with strong clove, banana and bubble gum. The wheat stands backstage on this one. The mouthfeel is light to medium-bodied, slick, soft and dry, while the flavor more or less follows the nose: bubble gum, cloves, wheat and caramel notes. This is a decent beer, but if I want an inexpensive regional dunkelweizen, I prefer Schlafly’s No. 15.
