Commercial Description:
Boulevard Lunar Ale is a cloudy, russet brown beer, with subtle aromatic notes provided by our special proprietary yeast strain. Lunar Ale’s distinctive rounded, mellow flavor is crowned by a crisp, dry finish. The old world art of bottle conditioning creates a secondary fermentation, resulting in a beer that tastes fresher, better, longer.

Poured a hazy, brownish amber with a big, off-white, bubbly head. Tons of a carbonation and decent lacing. This had a pugnant caramel finish to it. This is the worst boulevard brew i’ve had.

clear copper, medium tan quickly disappearing head, slightly lacy. aroma is spicy yeasty, reminiscent of belgian yeast. flavor is spicy yeast and sweet malt. medium bodied, dry finish. rather a disappointing entry from a brewer i am beginning to like. six pack purchased at a convenience store down the block from my downtown st. louis hotel.

Fairly unremarkable. Aroma is malty...not much else. Main flavor is malt. Finish is clean and dry.

12oz bottle. Pours a light, rusty brown body with a thin, fizzy, off-white head that dissipates immediately and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma similar to a Belgian and a hefe with a good amount of peppery spice. Soft and sweet fruit ester malts, ripe banana, cereal grains, and a dark caramel. Flavor is a sweet pear maltiness and a yeasty spice. Mellow sweetness, doughy wheat, and minimal bitterness. Seems like a bit of chocolate in the end too. Dries in the finish with a grainy and crisp feel to it. Pretty light to medium bodied with a light carbonated feel. Overall, they do advertise this as "mellow" and it sure is. Nice balance and decent tasting. Nothing special, but pretty solid.

12oz bottle courtesy of dakid618. Pours a hazy dark brown color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is malty with a slight sweetness with notes of spice, roasted nuts, grain, bread, some hints of barnyard funk. Flavor is malty and slightly sweet and very thin. Notes of bread, yeast, raisins, and some faint hints of honey. But really not much going on here. Generally light body with a quick and uninteresting finish.

12oz bottle. What exactly is a Lunar Ale? Pours a cloudy brown with a thin, white head. Nose is spicy and malt. Taste is the same. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. Nothing special.

brown color, no head at all. smells a bit nutty, and yeast. taste of yeast and wheat. pretty good malt flavor, not tasting too much hops, but as this sample is pretty well past its prime thats not suprising. pretty thin mouthfeel, a bit watery. would like to try a fresher sample in the future. Boulevard should do some better marketing with this one, No idea what i was buying, Nothing on the bottle tells you that this is a Dunkelweizen.

Cloudy orange pour with a thinning white head, aroma is yeasty citrus, taste is light with hints of corriander, banana and orange, slightly malty and finishing a bit watery.
