Commercial Description:
First introduced in 2008, Boulevard Maibock is a new, limited-release seasonal brew. A welcome sign of Spring, this beer is a traditional German strong lager, lighter in color than other bocks. Boulevard’s Maibock is a distinctive, refreshing take on this springtime classic.

Tap and keg. Poured a clear yellow color with a decent white head. Aroma was faint grass, and yeast. Flavor was mild bitters, malts and yeast. A crisp clean finish. A good easy drinking beer.

Source: On tap at The Medici in Normal, IL.
Glass: Poured into a standard pint glass.
Appearance: Poured a hazy gold/amber color with a one finger off white head.
Aroma: Very grainy with notes of earthy hops.
Flavor: Fairly bland with only grains showing through, and an obnoxious bitter finish.
Palate: Medium body with good carbonation and a clean mouthfeel.
Overall: Not very impressed. A very bland beer.

Pours a nice light brown color, a little bit of white head. Smells of grains and slight malt. The taste is almost wheat like with a bit of citrus.

On tap. Poured a dull light brownish copper color with virtually no head or lacing. The aroma was malt, sweet sugars and a light bit of citrusy hops. The flavor was sweet malts, light spice and a bit of twangy citrus hops at the end. Thin, boring mouthfeel. A finish that lingered with sweetness and soapiness. Meh.

Kind of a odd variation on the style, but plesant none the less. Pours clear and golden with a medium head and a little lace. The aroma is honey fresh hay and some malty sweetness. The flavor is nice and malty kind of sweet but blanaced by a bit of a citrusy hop presence with some light graininess. Very light for a Maibock not very complex and not terribly exciting. I will say it’s something I can see myself drinking again but not with a terrible lot of frequency. Refreshing but not exciting.

Its a lager. I’m not much of a fan of bocks, or lagers in general. To me most of them taste the same....and this one is no exception.

On tap at the 810 Zone. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of honey, cream corn, and some noble hops. Pretty much the same flavors. Medium body. Lots of carbonation. Balanced finish. I’d drink it again, but expected better.
