| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 2, 2007 This beer pours a deep orange/amber with a thin to no tan head. On the nose I get grapefruit, malt and sugar. the flavors are spicy grapefruit and a little warm I suppose. This is a different winter warmer if you ask me. Not a bad beer, but could have been done so much better. Cheers! kmweaver (2489), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a hazy mahogany color; off-white head with excellent retention and medium-bubbled lacing. Some piney and spicy hops in the aroma, with a bit of green apple / leafy hops poking through. Chewy toffee and cola and green apple in a medium-to-full mouthfeel; pleasant bit of mild spice (some clove and cinnamon), with a well-integrated spicy hoppiness and chewy candy sugar throughout; a pleasant, drinkable english strong ale (?), though this doesn’t really have the hop character I’d normally associate with an English beer. Medium, candy sugar and light clove finish; somewhat drying. ketchepillar (488), Des Moines/Grinnell, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Didn’t know anything about this beer, and i was pleasantly surprised. 1.5 finger head, decent retention, decent lacing. Aroma is a bit weak, but pretty good. Hoppy with some caramel, some brown ale type malt notes. Hops are pretty strong in the taste but again its like the aroma. Some brown ale & psuedo-nuttiness comes through more in the finish. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA
