Jul 28, 2004 Updated: Nov 30, 2006In the bottle at the 2004 Crescent Moon Vintage Beer Tasting. This bottle was from 1996. Spices are mellow at this point. Medium body. Has possibly lost a little carbonation. This winter, I should give a fresh bottle a chance. UPDATE 11/2006: Orange with a yellow colored head. Slightly orange in aroma. A good hoppy citrus flavor. Quite good on tap at the Crescent Moon.

Jun 25, 2004 dark red in color. has a kind of a nut smell. taste is pleasing, and it reminds me a bit of arrogant bastard without the arrogance. hops are not too present in this brew, but thats not always a bad thing. infact, i like this beer more than i did AB because i felt like AB was just a spin off on the real shit- DB. thats kind of like anchor small.... anyway back to the beer here- good flavor, easy drinking, pleasing. a good brew, thanks to bill for the trade.

Jun 22, 2004 Deep cloudy amber. Sweet acidic nose, with cherry and carmel predominate. Sweet palate of cherry and chocolate again ending with a rich coffee finish. Light malt, little in the way of hops but a nice balanced acidity.

Jun 18, 2004 Murky deep reddish brown with a medium lasting light brown head. Musty, spicy aroma of cinnamon, dough, clove, nutmeg, ginger, pepper, molasses pine, plum, red apple, and a hint of alcohol. Medium watery body with a moderate amount of carbonation. Flavor of hazelnut, ginger, molasses, cinnamon, leather, anise, plum, apple and a hint of mint. Fairly complex, another decent offering from Boulevard. Very good.

Jun 16, 2004 For some reason this used to taste better to me. The aroma isn’t as pleasant to me as it once was, but it still looks and tastes great. Another of Boulevards ales that just aren’t available long enough.

Apr 23, 2004 Pours a turbid mud color, lots of material in suspension decent head. Very sweet perfumey smell, a little overpowering - but if I had this around christmastime, I think it would be great! Bubbly mouthfeel and a weak taste of cinnamon, coriander and just a sprinkle of "I'm trying too hard to make this a festive beer". I don't like this one too much right now.
