Commercial Description:
Nutcracker Ale is Boulevard’s special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of Chinook hops.

Lightly hazy amber, with a large but short-lived sudsy head. Ongoing effervescence, but little lace. Light citric hops aroma, but faint. First sip was disappointing, somewhat tannic malt profile with some stale-bread, but the beer bounced back from this bad first impression, as the malts shifted towards a brown-sugar sweetness, nicely rounded by piney malts, and some fruit esters, more strawberry than anything else. Still a little bread-crusty on the finish. Medium to full body.

Copper pour, medium head, heavy lace. Acrid pine aroma. Piney, hoppy brew. Nicely carbed. With a fruity apple flavor. Weird sweet after taste, some floral or strawberry?
