Commercial Description:
Nutcracker Ale is Boulevard’s special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of Chinook hops.

Hazy dark orange/brown color with creamy off-white head. Not very interesting. Caramel malt, toffee, hints of dark fruit, and a bit of piny hops.

Lightly hazy amber, with a large but short-lived sudsy head. Ongoing effervescence, but little lace. Light citric hops aroma, but faint. First sip was disappointing, somewhat tannic malt profile with some stale-bread, but the beer bounced back from this bad first impression, as the malts shifted towards a brown-sugar sweetness, nicely rounded by piney malts, and some fruit esters, more strawberry than anything else. Still a little bread-crusty on the finish. Medium to full body.

Copper pour, medium head, heavy lace. Acrid pine aroma. Piney, hoppy brew. Nicely carbed. With a fruity apple flavor. Weird sweet after taste, some floral or strawberry?

This poured a dark amber color with a moderate to large beige head. The aroma contains some dark fruit, toffee, molasses, caramel and spices pretty nice! The flavor is somewhat sweet with a hint of bitterness in the finish. I’m tasting cherries, caramel, molasses, raisins, and toffee. I also detect a hint of spices. Overall this is a nice beer!

Bottle. Have been holding on to this one for a bit. Poured a rich coppery color. Aroma of caramel, crackers, earth with a little bit of spice. A pretty clean and flavorful beer. A nice lingering after taste initially, not so much as it wore on. Very malty flavor with a touch of spicy/earthy hops in the finish. Nice caramel and bready flavors. Solid beer.
