| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Appearance: Pours a medium copper body with a small, thin off-white head.
Smell: Gentle aroma of toasted malts, honeysuckle blossoms, and a bit of citrus.
Taste: Very light, sweet toasted malt flavor with hints of honey and a spicy hop flourish on the quick, semi-dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied, with a soft carbonation and smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Its exceedingly drinkable, I will say that about it, but that’s about all there is to really say about it. shp555 (1693), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 12, 2007 Pours a light copper color with a white head. Aroma is malty, some what fruity, with some earthy hops. Flavor is lightly malty, fruity, and a bitter hop finish. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Clear orange. Small white cap. Floral, grassy, lightly citrusy hops and modest malt support. Aroma has some sort of bad, funky off-ness when taking a deep inhalation, like something spoiled, doesn’t show in the flavor. Medium body, balanced carbonation, very easy to drink. Average. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Courtesy boboski. Pours a slightly hazy orange, with a small white head. Mild aromas, some hops, but not a whole lot. Some grain and light malt characters as well. Taste is a little grassy and kind of bitter. Not a whole lot of flavor to this beer. Maybe a touch of some tartness in the background, but it is far from up front and personal. Pretty boring, but nothing offensive. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Near translucent orange pour. White head rapidly dissipates and is easily roused back up for examination. the aroma has notes of grassy hops, orange pith, soured toasted grains and light caramel. Citric acidity seems to be the most aggressive portion of the nose. Flavor has mild bitterness, light sweetness, medium toasted grain notes and relatively low acidity. Palate has ample carbonation yet remains soft. Finish is grainy and acidic, citrus notes and grassiness lingering for a short while. Easy to drink but very substandard and rather uninteresting. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

9/18/2007: Boulevard Pale Ale pours a hazy gold color with a moderate amount of carbonation and a pillowy, off-white to beige-colored head that is mostly lasting. The aroma has some vague hoppy qualities and a bunch of yeastiness. The flavor has a light honey maltiness (slightly sweet) and a really mild floral bitterness (very weak hints of citrus and pine as well). This beer has a medium-light body and is smooth, but somewhat thin on the palate. Overall this is a weak Pale Ale that is a bit two watered down for me.

Mildly spicy and green hops carry you from aroma to flavor to finish, which is a bit dry and lasts. This is exactly the sort of beer that became a gateway drink to so many future hopheads in America. And when your uberhoppy reaction to years of bland beers starts to settle down and you’re ready for that golden mean between sessionability and challenge, this style will still be here for you. These are my thoughts as I sip this beer from the hinterlands that bred me and sent me forth into the wider world.
