The main thing I smell is citrus. As far as taste, there is a little malt (earthy), some citrus, and it’s sweet. Not complex, but easy to drink. In the finish I get a little bitter taste...not bad. It’s not outstanding, but I like it about as much as Sierra Nevada’s higher rated APA. I could drink this from time to time, and I believe I will. jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2005 Bottle. Pours light amber, clear, with an off-white head and good bubbling from carbonation. Nose is floral and citrus hops. Flavor is nicely balanced between sweet caramel malts and crystal hops, with a bittersweet finish. Palate is actually good with a chewy cookie quality. Quite good. bb (2941), Martinez, California, USA

Smells strongly of orange rind and grapefruit. Bit of hops and citrus flavors. I think ill stick with SNPA even though this is semi-local. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2005 Because I was not very careful pouring, this bottle-conditioned beer poured slightly cloudy. It is a light amber color with a medium rocky head that dissipates quickly leaving a little lacing around the edge of the glass. I detect a light caramel malt background to the primary grapefruit aroma. The flavor is slightly sweet and extremely smooth. It is initially sweet malt with a nice hop bitterness mixed in that fades to a middle of roasted nuts. The finish is long and bitter-sweet with a faint alcohol warmth. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 14, 2005 Bottle, best by 2/20/05. Dusty amber body, frothy white head. Primarily bright, fruity aroma of grapefruit and pineapple, caramel malt in the background. Dissapointing flavor, has a weak caramel malt backbone with a correspondingly weak hop profile. Too fizzy to boot.
