Bought a 12 pack for $12 just because it was the best available selection. Aroma has citrus and some mild hops. Nice and smooth with a decent hops taste. A nice mild taste that makes this beer easy to drink. Though it is not as strong as other pale ales I still found it enjoyable. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2004 Copper/amber with a foamy white head. Aroma was citrus and malt. And, for some unknown reason, I got a hint of parmesean. Smooth and creamy, medium bodied. Flavor was pleasant citrus and hops. A good, crisp, refreshing beer. Nothing outstanding, just good. But as a staunch supporter of Boulevard’s Unfiltered Wheat, I thought I would give this beer a try. By far the best Ale I’ve tasted. Flavor was very tasty, with a very fruity and somewhat sweet note. Colour was a nice peach/copper colour. Very fine. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 11, 2004 Color approaches peach, with a fine white crown. Aroma is fresh with hops (Cascade?), and bubbling over with fruit: apricot, peach, pineapple, some soft citrus at the back. Very sweet and delicious, this.
Palate is flavorful with welcome hop presence, just enough for flavor, but too prominent. Malt is strong and silent: you can feel it, and taste a touch. Very well-balanced, smooth and tasty, this pale ale reminds me of Sierra Nevada in it’s mellow but fruit-forward fashion.
Goes down beautifully, and I’d toss it back with regularity if I could. Sharper aspects of homulus lupus arrive late on the palate, and contribute to some variety in this brew. Finish is short but sweet. Quite enjoyable. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
