Commercial Description:
Boulevard Pale Ale is a smooth, fruity, medium-bodied and well hopped ale with year-round appeal. We include caramel malt in the recipe to provide a rich flavor and amber color. Pale Ale is the first beer we produced and continues to be a perennial favorite.

I'm on a kick of being disappointed by pale ales - this one isn't bad - it in now way resembles the disasters I had at Springfield's microbrewery - but it doesn't have the floral freshness I was craving, either. It seems like it has all the right parts, but in a tired, exhausted sort of way. Rather like a distinguished, but slightly rumpled gentleman with a few faded grease spots on his silk tie.

Bottle. Poured a clear pale orange with a small off-white head. Aroma was full of floral and citrus hops with a bit of a fruity undertone. Flavor was hoppy with light floral notes and a bit of citrus. A bit of a malty finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy with some sweet grapefruit, pineapple and citric and a pronounced honey malt character. Flavor starts with a very fruity and citric sweet character before picking up some grainy maltiness. Slightly bitter and crisp finish. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. A decent pale ale, unfortunately there was no real wow to it that would make me wanna keep coming back to it again and again.

Pours a slightly hazed orange color. Thin white head that lasted with some lacing. Very little aroma. Mostly a thin sweet smell. No hops present in the aroma. Thin malt taste but I can get some hop flavor. It has that weird smoked wood (Beechwood Aged) that I taste in Budweiser. It’s not an off-putting taste, just an observation.

Sampled from 12-oz bottle from Boulevard variety 12-pack. Pours a clear golden amber brew with an average off-white head that dissipates to a thin white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, a hint of caramel malt, some light pine and grassy hops. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of caramel malt, grassy and cirtusy hops, and a touch of green vegetable. Finish is semi-dry some fruit with the bitter hops really comes out in the finish.

Bottle. Pours a large, frothy, off-white head. Lasting and lacy. Clear, amber body with abundant carbonation bubbles. Aroma is of mild floral hops and light bread crust. Light citrus and more floral hops in the flavor. Malts are caramel and little biscuit. Some wood and pear also present in the flavor. Medium, smooth body. Average carbonation. Moderately bitter, clean finish. II wish there were a more prominent presence played by the flavor and aroma hops. The malt profile is very pleasant. Overall a well made, subtle APA. Very sessionable. A tip of the hat to the beer that got me interested in craft beer.

Golden-amber color with a big frothy off-white head. The aroma is malty with some citrus at first that I don’t pick up at all after a few whiffs. The scent also includes hay, grass and a touch of swill. Easy drinking with grassy and malty flavors with mild bitter hops and herbal notes. Kind of ho hum and unexciting but still a decent session beer.
