This would be a wonderful food pairing beer. This has run the gamut of flavors, some vegetal, fruity, even kind of a beefy gaminess. Very yeasty in the spice category. Very dry and almost reminiscent of Orval in its bubblegum like texture. Herbal hops with some dry sage and some sour funkiness in the finish. Dry and chalky, it is good, but it is probably my least favorite of the current smokestack series I’ve tried. Ceebs25 (233), Naperville, Illinois, USA

Very fruity aroma, peach apricot dominate, some ginger, not as spicy as maybe I expected, but nice. Good foamy white head, ok lacing, golden straw color. Subtle spices in the star, smooth fruit of peach apricot malt and light citrus pineapples in the middle, spicy tingling dry end, fairly light in body. Maybe too fruity, but a very nice Boulevard, pretty impressed. Pawola22 (752), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Pours a very hazy bright yellow. Big and thick white head. The aroma is of pineapple and citrus, yeasty, grassy, sweet and spicy. Its very creamy and medium to light body. It tastes like it was meant to be drank on a farm. Spicy, hay like, peppery, fruity citrus pineapple, and a pretty dry finish. An awesome beer that is getting me into saisons. shanepardue (107), Raytown, Missouri, USA

Cloudy bright yellow when the bottle has been roused a bit; clear sparkling light gold before that. Dense and creamy white head, if a bit thin. Lemon and grass nose. Creamy, deliciously light body. Hay and lemon mid-palate. A delicious triumph of american engineering, getting this tricky style pointed in the right direction and behaving so attractively. JoeinUccle (911), Brussels, Belgium

Lovely, hazy orange color with thick, white head. Aroma is an interplay of a subtle, yeasty spiciness, cereals, citrus notes and grassy hops. Begs you to sip. Moderately bitter flavor with hints of pepper and citrus from the yeast, dry finish. Delicious. Instant classic in my book. mcbackus (751), Merritt Island, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 21, 2008 bottle batch # S7332: pours with a bick thick pure white head trhat lingers for awhile and leaves some lacing, this sits atop hazy golden colour body. aroma is lovely with barn yard, lemon, wheat malts, floral, and just a touch of sour seeps through. flavour is full of wheat and fruitiness, slight lemon and a good funky barn hay flaovur, some spices slip in to the mix also a very good saison beer. This is tasty and extremely drinkable. Lots of flavors going on but can’t figure them out. I’ll drink this again for sure. Huge white head that took awhile to die down while beer got a little hot might be it’s only downfall.
