bottle s7278 by way of indra. orange yellow color topped by a fluffy whitish head that lingers for quite some time. yeast is the first thing noticed... lots of it combined with orange skin, pale malty sweetness, spiciness and a touch of floral grassiness. the palate starts sweet but gets really dry and bitter as it finishes. flavors of dried grass, light bitterness, peppery/coriander bite and a little bit of funk all noticed as well. full bodied with a really creamy soft mouth feel that i wanted to give a 5. a bit on the sweet side.... another year or two in the bottle this will kick...

Sampled at Hellbilly’s tasting. Thanks Hellbilly! Only my second Saison, so not a lot to compare it to. Slightly hazy golden pour with a good sized white head. Lemons, flowers and yeast in the aroma. Grassy citrus and yeast in the flavor. Not bad at all. Would enjoy further sampling the style!

Bottle at hellbilly’s gathering. Like most saisons for me they have a decent yeasty aroma. Bright gold clear body with lots of bubbles and good white head. Balanced flavor mix of yeast, sour and tart none of the three were dominate over the others a good blend and good refreshment. Thanks Joshua.

Sampled via the Hellbilly tasting courtesy of Hellbilly. Not a favorite style but a quality beer none-the-less. 24-karat liquid with dense white foam. The brew smells and tastes like funky yeast and freshly cut fairway. What one would image a whiff on Augusta before The Master’s would smell like. Wet grass, mildew, and magnolias. Enjoyable.

Sampled at the Hellbilly’s Hellraiser Phoenix tasting (4/13/08). Bottle courtesy of Hellbilly. Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a nice white head and decent lacing. Nose is Belgian yeast, spices and wet grass. Palate is a lot like the aroma with a spicy/peppery flavor upfront, grassy hops and yeast. Nice dry finish. I’ve not had much of the style - decent hot weather beer with a dry finish.

From a bottle. Pours a light gold color with a large, frothy head. Aroma of honey, citrus, and pine. Thinner texture. A crisp, light flavor with some slightly sweeter bitterness in the finish. Pleasant and dry.

25.4 oz bottle. Hazed gold with a fluffy white head. Nose of lemon, yeast, dough and baby powder. Zesty carb, medium light but creamy. Taste is lemon pith, light lime and chewed flower petals for a bitter note. Good saison but not quite distinctive.

Pours a light gold with a foamy, creamy head. Aroma is hay, sour lemon, honey, and a floral note (think orange blossom). Flavor is wheaty at the beginning, coriander notes, slight sourness, a vit of bittrness, grassy and long finish. A very good example of the style, subtle in it’s complexity and very well made. The only improvement that could occur is for the mouthfeel to lose a bit of acidity. A very good example of an excellent style. This makes me wish Boulevard would brew more styles all the time.
