Lightly golden color with a plethora of bubbles rising to form a tall mound of slightly off-white foam. Really a beautiful champagne look in this one. The bubbles get smaller and fewer as the time passes, but I have yet to make a second pour. The next pour does not increase the bubbles but the head is massive and sturdy, rising high above the glass. The first few tastes are just chunks of foam. Fun from the start. The aroma is dusty malt, white currants and some hints of spice. Perhaps my judgment is atilt after just trying a saison by the brewers at "Horny Goat", but straightforward, honest and simple is much better than stating something is a saison and making a simple and insipid brew. Lightly toasted malt and hints of honey start and winnow about. Herbal hops and hints of zest mid swallow. Light willowy body. Perhaps a bit bitter in the finish and linger as I am gradually left with a old spice flavor pondering. There are slight returns of the malt, in a dry caramel accent in the finish. This was perfect after two glasses, The last half of the 750 is starting to wear on me. After a slight respite, I’m now catching vanilla malt flavors. A saison with some tripel attitudes. I must get more of this. OldMrCrow (1200), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours a light yellow with a beautiful white head. Nice grassy saison aroma with a hint of apple. Flavor is gently tangy, restrained grassiness, lemon, pineapple juice. Very much in the Dupont vein, but without quite the level of funkiness there. Nice to have US breweries producing such a classical saison. It could not be more drinkable. tennisjoel (951), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2009 Gold pour with a 2 finger thick white head. Dusty lemon, apple, citrus, and pepper aroma. Finishes fairly dry. Quite refreshing brew. Nicely carbonated. Definitely a solid saison for a North American beer and true to style. Two thumbs up! Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 6, 2009 Pours a super hazy pils yellow with a humongous white head that is slow to dissipate. Aroma is of clean spices/phenols, belgian yeast, and some hints of apple/pear. Taste is extremely clean and well balanced. Extremely refreshing. Very reminiscent of Saison DuPont (but cleaner). A very solid offering, and I wish it were distributed here. BritAlesRule (84), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2009 Rocky foam head diminishes quickly to a skim. Nice golden straw color. Coriander and some lite peppery spice notes make my mouth salivate in anticipation. First sip: Oops!, wrong hops. This one’s American all the way. Medium body is pleasing on the palate with some carbonation. Some weedy citrus notes as I try to draw the taste out to some length. It’s certainly decent , but where the Red Barn nailed the style, this still shouts ’copy’. I certainly hope to get to try the Saison Brett. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA

Flavor is malty, with notes of citrus, yeast and spice. Not bad. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Bottle: Rich golden pour with a large, creamy white head. Nose is very dry... Floral and earthy tones. Tastes dry and floral too with more earthy notes, floral hops, and a light malt character. Light amount of Belgian spices, namely cloves. Citrus and straw. Fun. Thanks Ditmier. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Color is a hazy yellow gold with good carbonation and a tall loose head. Aroma is a sour scent of corn and citrus. Taste is spicy and bitter. Starting bold light body it goes down creamy with a crisp spicy feel on the end. Finish is spicy with some lemon and a faint hint of yeast that show a little banana then a bold bitterness. After taste is a lingering of the citrus and bitterness. I like it, there’s a lot more to it then most Saisons.
