Ruby orange, blood orange aroma and cedar. Cedar and orange (theme?) gets stronger in the sip. I like the twist.

bottle at Tampa xmas gathering. Another nice attempt at using cedar in beer. pours copper, off-white head. aroma, malty, grainy, dark fruits, hints of spiced wood from the cedar. flavor, dark fruits, mild grassy hops, hints of wood, and spiced mouthfeel. Cedar adds a nice touch but remained very hidden and that is not nearly as spicy as what we have been used with cedar aging beers here in Tampa.

750ml corked and caged. We get Boulevard in WA, but this had to be traded for via scrizzz...thanks Click. Sweet wheat, golden raisins with some faint cedar and a touch of yeasty bubblegum. The cedar does fade pretty quickly. Caramel wheat, banana, sweet maltiness, prickly carb, with some well played bittering on the end that has presence of grass and some sweet cedar. Another well crafted Boulevard beer...thanks Clint.

750, corked and baled. cloudy burnished medium amber with tawny edges. loose fizzy tan head that quickly falls to a faint ring. tawny orangey port and caramel nose. fizzy creamy medium body. caramel, molasses, oranges, and port on the mid palate. mild caramel finish.

Pours a deep cedar amber with a thick body and a thick beige head. Aroma is sweet but subtle caramel and earty-sweet vegetable. Flavor is caramel molasses, sweet bread, and a sweet grassy hops in the finish. Thick and slightly tingly on the tongue. Nice beer but there is little cedar in my portion.

Bottle from Krackie97: Pours a deep, slightly hazed stained wood color with orange highlights, the head solid and light tan. Nose wasn’t overly impressive as the lager yeast dominated, though the cedar was trying to peak through and maybe a little orange, spice, and alcohol was noted as well. Cedar aging is evident here, unfortunately the beer as a serious lack of body. The yeast here is all wrong for the style as it is producing almost pilsnery esters yet with an aftertaste of banana. The complex malt profile of a good doppelbock seems to be completely lacking here..and the alcohol is peppery and hot. The carbonation is overzeleous and gassy...the hops again are something more akin to a pilsner than a doppelbock. Unfortunately, this beer is a fail.

Bottle. Chestnut brown pour with a tan, lightly rocky head. Nose is malty, light cherry, light wood. Taste is again malt and dry, some strange vegetal (yeasty_ notes. Kind of have to hesitate for a moment and debate if this was made with ale yeast. Light nutty, almost Frangelico note, woody and edging to smoke. Some sort of juniper and cucumber element? Smooth, medium-full body.

Strong Ale 2009. Pours orange with a tan head. Nose is sweet with woody notes. Taste is sweet fruity, nice cedar is alright.
