| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2009 Niiiice interpretation! I can’t go back to the flagship pale ale though... Once you’ve had the single-wide, you’re hooked. Great balance of hops on the nose and the mouth. I particularly like the way you get more hops in the nose than on the palate -- It won’t knock you over with hops like you’re putting hops in a juicer. Great beer to drink and enjoy the aroma. jumpjet2k (168), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2009 Bottle. Golden-amber color with a nice-sized fluffy off-white head. Citrusy-pine aroma. On the tongue it’s less hoppy than the aroma leads one to expect, but overall well balanced with the malt. Good creamy mouthfeel. It’s not especially bitter, nor does it have any particular notes of interest in the flavor or aroma. Nevertheless, it’s a well-made IPA. If I want something around this level of hoppiness, though, I’ll pick Stone IPA over this one. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2009 Pros: Excellent look, the beer is clearly a natural ale. Large frothy foam that lasts well. Light golden color. Nose has some potent hop elements. Flavor has lots of taste, is well balanced.
Cons:
It’s hard not to like a natural, well made IPA like this. I’m not blown away, but this beer is of the highest quality, no doubt. ScottyP (314), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2009 (bottle) orange/amber with generous white head and nice lace. Strong grapefruit/pine hops aroma. Flavor is more balanced than aroma suggests - nice citrus/pine hops flavor but fairly balanced with some pale malt. kurtzj (11), Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Served in a weizen glass at the Austin Flying Saucer (happy hour). I didn’t see it poured, but it came to me headless. There was an orange tint to the color and aroma. Not enough hops for my taste. A very forgettable IPA. coharahawk (87), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 29, 2009 Updated: May 5, 2009Pours golden yellow with a frothy head. Aroma is strongly pine with grapefruit and a slightly resinous character. Flavor is nicely hoppy and citrus with a slight malt backbone. This is a nice exmaple of the style and very drinkable.
